Energy-based Modeling and Control Approach Researches on Electromagnetic Bearing System

Abstract: The composition of electromagnetic bearings is introduced. The dynamic model is developed with the consideration of the nonlinear of coil’s inductance according to energy theory. After Lyapunov function is derived, with theoretical analysis, energy-based control design method is discussed in order to solve the global stability problem. A group of parameters that satisfy global stability is obtained by contrast with PID control simulation. The simulation results show that the energy-based control design method provides design basis for nonlinear control system design, and a new method for improving the dynamic response of electromagnetic bearing system(EBS).
