Acta Aeronautica et Astronautica Sinica (ISSN 1000-6893), a Chinese monthly journal, was first published in 1965; Chinese Journal of Aeronautics (CJA, ISSN 1000-9361), an English monthly journal, was first published in 1988 and is currently published in collaboration with Elsevier. Both journals are comprehensive academic journals which are edited and published by Editorial Office of Chinese Journal of Aeronautics, sponsored by Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Beihang University, and superintended by China Association for Science and Technology. Both journals are printed on great 16-mo copperplate paper and open for publication at home and abroad. The content of two journals do not repeat each other. The main readers of two journals are researchers of scientific research institutions in the field of aerospace technology as well as teachers and graduate students of aerospace related specialties in colleges and universities.

The aim of both journals is to p_r_o_m_p_tly reflect the development level of science and technology in China's aerospace field, exchange new achievements of science and technology at home and abroad, accelerate academic progress and talent growth, and promote the development of new theories and technologies.

Both journals have the editorial committee composed of well-known experts with various specialties in aerospace field at home and abroad. All the manuscripts are peer-reviewed by experts with relevant specialties and published only after final examination by the editorial committee. Both journals contain four columns: Fluid Mechanics and Flight Mechanics, Solid Mechanics and Vehicle Conceptual Design, Electronics and Electrical Engineering and Control, and Material Engineering and Mechanical Manufacturing.

Both journals are the flagship journals in the field of aerospace in China, which have high academic influence in the industry and have won various honors in journal evaluation over years. They are the preferred journals for scientific researchers in this field to publish academic papers. For many years, Acta Aeronautica et Astronautica Sinica has ranked first in comprehensive evaluation of China's core journals in the field of aeronautics and astronautics. The impact factor of CJA ranks in the forefront of SCI aerospace journals, and the manuscripts of the journal come from more than 60 countries and regions worldwide.
