Abstract: The aim of the research is to find the changing rules of residual stresses and mechanical properties of aluminum alloy sheet under different quenching process parameters. With aluminum alloy sheet 2A12 as the study object, orthogonal experiment is designed under different parameters (orientation, heating temperature, transferring time and water temperature) and evaluation index(strength, elongation, residual stresses of lengthwise) is measured by the method of uniaxial tensile test and X-ray diffraction test in the experiment. By the observation of the microstructure of aluminum alloy sheet 2A12 and comparative analysis on the obtained data, it is found that the influence of water temperature variation to evaluation index of aluminum alloy sheet 2A12 is remarkable and interactions between GP zones and transition phases play an important role in the sheet properties. In addition, taking into account the circumstances of all aspects of evaluation index, parameters in the orthogonal experiment are optimized in the study.
