Abstract:

Laser sintering of a mixed powder which consisted of 316 stainless steel, H3BO-3 and KBF-4 was carried out to prepare lotustype porous materials. The porosity of samples was measured and the characteristics of pores were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that a porous lotustype structure with fine connectivity and distribution uniformity of pores can be fabricated at a lower scan speed. With increasing the scan speed, the pores’ tendency to incline towards the scan direction becomes more pronounced.
