Abstract: Organic tin compound is used as catalyst for the cure reaction of bisphenol A dicyanate ester resin (BADCy). The mechanical properties, thermal properties and water uptake of cured resin as well as the BADCy/E-glass composite are fully evaluated. The results show that the cured resin and composite possess enhanced properties in comparison with the uncatalyzed system. The flexure strength of the cured resin is 124 MPa,and the impact strength is 12.6 kJ/m2. Tg is 264℃. The flexure strength of cyanate ester resin/E-glass composite is 742.6 MPa,and the interlaminar shear strength(σ) is 72.3MPa. The results indicate that the polycyanurate ester resin catalyzed by organic tin compound shows high performance resin matrix characteristics, and also presume that the organic tin compound is an efficient catalyst for the cyanate ester resin curing reaction.
