Abstract: Based on the studies on compressive failure of composite laminates with low velocity impact damage, the repair matter of laminates after low velocity impact was investigated. Three repair modes were developed, named as opening, metal filling, and mechanical repair respectively herein. Their influences on residual compressive strength were examined through experiments. The implications of the results were that all the repair modes had fine improvement upon compressive strength while mechanical repair got residual strength doubled and redoubled. Meanwhile, this investigation had proved further that sub-laminate buckling and the delamination expending were the important factors that caused the decrease in the compression-bearing capacity of composite laminates after low velocity impact.
