Abstract: In this paper the micro-macro mechanics is employed to investigate the statistical be haviour of single fibre reinforced and hybrid fibre reinforced composites and a statistical calculating model is presented. The Weibuli distribution function is used to describe the statistical characteristics of the tensile properties of the fibres and the load redistribution in the failure process is also described by the stress concentration coefficient of the fibres in the model. The estimated re-suits of the tensile properties for single fibre reinforced composites are in good agreement with the experimental ones. But there exist some deviations of the estimated values from the experimental ones of the tensile properties of hybrid fibre reinforced composites.
