Abstract: The feature of fretting fatigue and stress distribution of a blade-to-disc circumferential dovetail joints in a typical gas turbine is discussed. The method of calculation and test presented here can be used to determine stress, displacement fields and contact state in interface, and also to determine fretting extent and predict the location of crack which will spread. Besides, this calculation and test method could be developed to predict fretting fatigue life and to study other types of joints as well.Circumferential dovetail joints have compared with axial dovetail joints which have been studied and some results have been published before.
