Adaptive Selecting Decimation Pattern Algorithm for Motion Estimation

Abstract:

A new method of pixel decimation for the motion estimation is presented in this paper.This method improves the onedimension gradient descent algorithm (ODGDA) first, and then selects appropriate decimation patterns to reduce the redundancy in the motion estimation criterion computation.This method proposes five decimation patterns based on the gradient descent direction, and it can select the decimation pattern adaptively during the motion estimation.
