Integrated Approach to Overall Design Evaluation for Integrated Avionics System of Aircraft

Abstract:

The cost-effectiveness of avionics system is a key metric that contributes to the overall system effectiveness of aircraft as well as to a lower life cycle cost. In the conceptual/preliminary design process, traditional approaches for avionics system evaluation or optimization are focused on the isolated cost or effectiveness attribute. This paper proposes a methodology that takes account of the combined effect of all-important attributes in providing a means to evaluate alternative designs.
