Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a new competing track to innovation, development, and competition of the civil aircraft technology. In a variety of applications of AI for the full life cycle of civil aircraft, intelligent flight is committed to changing the traditional flight driving mode and reconstructing the human-computer interaction mode and air traffic management architecture of future flight, and has become the most significant and subversively innovative features of the industry and the new arena of the civil aircraft intelligent competition. This article enunciates the basic concepts of intelligent flight, and its three-phase roadmap: the auxiliary intelligent, enhanced intelligence and complete intelligence. The planning strategy for the intelligence flight and relevant technical systems in accordance with the CCAR 23&25 are constructed, and the light sport aircraft requirements are analyzed. The demanding technologies (reliable airworthiness of AI, human factor engineering) in the application of the intelligent flight technology are introduced and some personal thoughts on the future of intelligent flight are also given.

Key words: civil aircraft, intelligent flight, reliable airworthiness, human factor, enhanced intelligence, auxiliary intelligence
