Abstract: The method of pseudocompressibility in which a time derivative pressure term is introduced into the mass conservation equation has been used for numerically solving the three dimensional steady incompressible Navier Stokes equations. The solution procedure employs Beam Warming implicit approximate factorization scheme. The modified Baldwin Lomax algebraic turbulent model is used to numerically simulate high incidence vortical flows about a tangent ogive cylinder. The numerical results are in good agreement with experiment. To reproduce the experimentally observed asymmetric vortices, it was found essential to introduce a small asymmetric jet disturbance near the body apex.
