Abstract: With the development of integrated avionics systems, bus MIL-STD-1553B can no longer meet the requirements of times. Fibre channel switching network, as a new generation of high-performance network, has been introduced into the avionics system. Its performance indexes exert great influence on the overall performance of the avionics system. In order to resolve the problem of real-time system message transmission, the communication of the fibre channel switching network is researched by adopting the weighted round robin scheduling algorithm. This paper conducts modeling for the scheduling process of the fibre channel switching network by applying stochastic Petri nets, and then, through simulation and analysis, derives some important performance indexes, such as data traffic, network load, delay time, and the ratio of time-out messages. Finally, the performance of the scheduling algorithm is analyzed. The simulation results prove that the fibre channel switching network possesses the qualities of high speed and stability, and that the weighted round-robin scheduling algorithm can satisfy the requirements of realtime and fairness in the process of message transmission.
