Atomization, Aerodynamics and Combustion Performance of Swirl Cup

Abstract:

This paper reviews the effects of key design parameters and operating conditions to swirl cup, which is applied widely to modern aeroengine combustor, on the characteristics of atomization, aerodynamics and combustion. The key parameters of swirl cup include the configurations of double swirlers, Venturi, sleeve, swirl numbers of swirler, angle and shape of sleeve flare, the relative dimensions of Venturi and sleeve.
