PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF AN ESM GUIDING A 2D RADAR

Abstract:

An analytical expression of the successful guiding probability of using an ESM sensor guiding a 2D radar is derived for a co-located radar-ESM system. With the analytical expression, the successful guiding probability can be easily obtained. The guiding probability influenced by an ESM and a 2D radar is studied and four properties of the successful guiding probability are proved. Numerical calculation of the successful guiding probability is conducted for several cases and the results verify the properties of the successful guiding probability. Discussions are also made. The conclusions presented in this paper will be useful in the design of co-located radar-ESM guiding systems.
