Abstract: Since the appearance of Laser Doppler Anemometer, the accurate measurement for the turbulent velocity has become reality. The determination of the scalar properties, for example, temperature and species concentration has received increased attention in studying turbulent combustion. Results from temperature and species concentration of Laser Spontaneous Raman Scattering measurements in an H 2/N 2/air turbulent diffusion flame are reported. A comparison of the measurements with Reynolds stress model prediction is given. The agreement is very good.

Key words: Laser Doppler velocimeters, turbulence, lame tempera ture measurement
