STUDY OF CONFIDENCE INTERVAL ESTIMATION METHODS OF PRODUCT RELIABILITY LIFE USING FIELD DATA

Abstract: Methods of estimating the confidence interval of productr eliability life using field dataare studied with the help of Monte - Carlo simulation technique. Based on the comparison betweenand analysis of three current interval estimation methods, ieper centile, substitution percentileand normal- biased percentile , a new method called splined normal- biased percentile is present -ed. Simulation result s show that the new method has better statistical character istics, which is of value to engineering application.
