Abstract: The calculation and analysis of the damage failure of the plunger hole wall for the aeroplunger pump ZB-16D are presented. After analyzing the structure of the hole wall and the exerted forces, an appropriate mechanical model is determined. By using the boundary element method of three-dimension calculation to the selected isolation body, the stresses of each node points under minimum thicknesses of the two adjacent hole wall are obtained. Isopleths of stress at some cross sections are made. The synthetical result based on the feature of force, the level of stresses and the strength of material indicate that the failure of the plunger hole wall belongs to high cycle fatigue of material. Finally, the curves of maximum and mean stress of the hole wall in relation to the sizes of minimum thickness are also presented. These curves will be of reference value for designing future plungler hole wall.
