A FORMULA OF THREE-PARAMETER POWER FUNCTION FOR ε-N CURVES

Abstract

Abstract: A formula of three-parameter power function for strain-life fatigue curves is presented in this paper. Fatigue limits of materials are considered in the formula. Thus it can fit strain-life fatigue data better and calculate lives of structures more accurately than the Manson-Coffin formula. Besides, the tests of determining e-N curves of materials are simplified by it. Many fatigue results of materials have satisfactorily been treated by this formula. It is simple and convenient for structural life-prediction.
