Abstract:

Recently, variable structure systems (VSS) control has been widely used in motor control systems. It provides attractive fedtures such as fast response, good transient performance, insensitivity to variations in plant parameters, and external disturbances. However, the undesired phenomenon of chattering is a serious problem. This Paper discursed the application of the global asymptotic reaching of sliding Mode control concept of the D.C motor position control. In addition robustness of the asymptotic redching methods under external disturbances. the uncertainties and nonlinearities are discussed. The control scheme was implemented and tested using a microcomputer and digital interface systemsThsis experiment may also serve as a basis of further applications of VSC.
