NONLINEAR CONTACT STRESS ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITE BOLTED JOINTS

Abstract: In this paper, an incremental finite element mixed method is suggested and is used for nonlinear contact stress analysis of composite bolted joints. The effects of pin elasticity, laminate iayap and friction on the stresses around the hole in laminates are considered. The Modified Hakn-Tsai constitutive model including both shear and transverse nonlinearities is used. Comparisons are made between the linear and the nonlinear results.
