Unsteady Aerodynamics Characteristic Study of a Jettisoned Aircraft Canopy

Abstract: The steady and unsteady aerodynamics of aircraft canopy are simulated by solving the N-S equation for analysing the influence of unsteady aerodynamic effect, the orientation of the body and Mach number of the free flow on aerodynamic coefficients. Furthermore, the aerodynamic look-up graph is established. The result shows that the unsteady aerodynamic effect is the main influencing factor on aerodynamic load distribution and different canopies have the similar rule, i.e., integrated aerodynamic coefficients is linear with non-dimensional pitching velocity.
