Abstract:

Load is distributed according to the stiffnesses in a statically indeterminate structure, so loads on the jointedbolts at a wing root are vary with the different stiffnesses of the structure parts. Based on the wing structure analysis of a new kind of ground effect aircraft, the main structure near its wing root is modeled using PATRAN/NASTRAN software to observe the characteristics of bolts’ load distribution affected by the stiffnesses. Because of the shape of airfoil, the stiffnesses at wing root are not uniform, and this paper mainly investigates their effects on the load distribution of the bolts. Considering the effects of stringers on the stiffness of central wing, load situations of the bolts are also compared when using a central wing with and without stringers. The regulation of bolts’ load distribution is given out by the finite element analysis of the local model. And the conclusions are valuable for wing root joint designs such as those of ground effect aircraft or light airplane.
