Abstract:

Aiming at the torsional vibration of a space flexible bar system, a flexible bar system which consists of a flexible bar, a strain gauge sensor and a piezoelectric torsional actuator is proposed. To investigate the torsional vibration of the system, the dynamics governing equations of the system is established using the Lagrange equation and the assumed mode method. For the problem of the actuator/sensor optimization in the system, a hybrid optimization strategy based on minimum input energy, maximum energy transferring and maximum singular value of controllability Grammian is put forward. The genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal position of the actuator/sensor. Numerical analysis is performed, and the results show that optimal position of the flexible bar is on the root. Compared with other positions on the bar, the optimal position is the best place for the actuator to apply control and for the sensor to apply observation.
