Abstract:

As a new developed forming technique for composites, the liquid infiltration and liquid-solid extrusion process can produce composite tubes, bars, and other shaped products directly from liquid metals. However, the matching and controlling of its process parameters are difficult. In order to overcome the difficulties in controlling the liquid-solid extruding the composite process, the dynamic model is identified using U-D factorization nonlinear model and parameter on-line estimation, which is proposed on the bases of the profound analysis of the characteristics of the identification modeling. The experimental results show that this method can increase the computational efficiency and numerical stabilities of the model and on-line estimation. The identification model reflects the dynamic performance of the system. The validness of the online estimation in the engineering application is also illustrated through the experimental results. The investigation of this article estabilishes the base for the practical use and process control of liquid-solid extruding composite process.
