Abstract:

Vapor compression heat pump is a new concept of thermal control system and refrigerator for future space use. The worldwide achievements are introduced in this paper such as the advantages and the feasibility of this technology. The key techniques of the vapor compression heat pump for space use are discussed, which include microgravity two-phase heat exchangers, non-lubricated high-speed compressor etc. This paper also introduces the study method of microgravity two-phase heat exchangers and suggests research method of the techniques mentioned above in China.

Key words: vapor compression heat pump, spacecraft, microgravity, two-phase heat exchanger, gravitational independent
