Abstract: Tension/tension, compression/compression and tension/compression fatigue tests were carried out on composite honeycomb core sandwich specimens after low velocity impact. Then they were tested to fail by tensile or compressive loads. Some methods were used to study the fatigue damage development and static failure after fatigue: X ray, deply, and visual inspection. The influences of fatigue damage on the properties of Nomex honeycomb core sandwich panels were analyzed. The results showed that the unidirectional fatigue properties of honeycomb core sandwich planes after low velocity impact were very good. The bidirectional fatigue properties of honeycomb core sandwich planes after low velocity impact might be worse.
