Abstract

Abstract: A time integration scheme used to analyze the impacting problems between a particle and structure is extended and adopted to obtain the transient impacting responses of plates and bars. The impacting problems of bars and plates with all kinds of boundary conditions are routinized and the feasibility of the determination of impact loads with the method of mode superposition is demonstrated further. Finally, the convenience , the effectiveness and the reliability of the method are verified by the numerical examples.
