Abstract: In this paper, the numerical analysis of dynamic response of the plate by cubic isoparametric elements of 16-nodes at 10~ 20 m / s impact rate is carried out. In the program the large deformation are considered by using Total Lagrange described method and time discreteness with Newmark method. A result of dynamic response calculation is compared with that of experiment for the plate of LY12CZ and PMMA respectively. A Hopkinson Bar device for measuring the coupling loads and deflection of impact points with impacting time is employed in this study. In the meantime, dynamic mechanical parameters of two materials mentioned above are provided, from which it shows that PMMA is a sensitive material to strain rate and appears brittleness' phenomenon, and LY12CZ is a material independent of strain rate and appears better plastic deformation behavior at impact loading.
