Abstract: Based on the unified hardening model, a dynamic shakedown analysis for structures under cycling loads are presented. It is described in detail that the synthetic yield surfaces are temporarily and locally linearized, and self-equilibrium synthetic stress systems are selected by the procedure of successive approximation. Through these techniques, the numbers of the variables and the constraint relations are greatly reduced. The theorem and method are applicable to a lot of work-hardening materials and the perfectly-plastic material is only a simple case of them.
