Abstract:

In this paper an improved principle formula for the predicted tracer line is presented. The main idea in this improved solutionis to transfer the attacker body coordinate frame at the moment that the bullet is fired to the one at the observing movement, by integrating Euler'singu-lar movement equation in a backward way. Under some reasonably simplified assumptions, explicit and approximate solutions to the equation are given and then used to compare the improved principle formula with the traditional one.It is shown that the latrr is a special case of the former while the algorithmic structures for both are simular.A numerical example is given to support the main results and a problem concerning the engineering implementation is also briefly discussed here.It is suggested that the traditional formula, at least in off-line accuracy analysis of airborne weapon system, should be replaced by the improved one.
