Abstract: Originating from the aviation field in the 1950s, the concept of structural integrity has undergone numerous developments. However, it is currently mainly focused on the operational stage. With the continuous development of technology and the increasing demands, structural integrity has gradually become a general goal throughout the life cycle of structures. This paper discusses the importance and development status of structural integrity as a general goal for the life cycle of structures, pointing out deficiencies in current research, such as the lack of systematic requirements during the preliminary demonstration stage, incomplete quality control during the manufacturing stage, and neglecting the perspective of the service life. To address these issues, this paper proposes frameworks for Structural Manufacturing Integrity Program (SMIP), Structural Storage Integrity Program (SSIP), and Structural Operational Integrity Program (SOIP).An effective way to carry out quality control of equipment is to implement the equipment integrity programs, which should be used in the quality control of the equipment manufacturing phase; the equipment storage integrity programme should be used in the quality control of the equipment storage phase; and the equipment service integrity programme should be used in the quality control of the equipment service phase. The life cycle quality control of equipment is of great significance for the suitability and effectiveness of equipment in service.
