NAVIER STOKES ANALYSIS OF THE AERODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF COAXIAL ROTORS

Abstract: The aerodynamic properties of a coaxial rotor configuration are calculated by solving 3 D incompressible N S equations with momentum source terms. Computed aerodynamics and wake geometry are compared with experimental and flight test data respectively. The results show that the aerodynamic properties of coaxial rotors can be well predicted by solving the N S equations with momentum source terms.
