Abstract: The acceleration response of the panel and the ribbed panel (skin of aircraft) exited by the band high-frequency random noise field is discussed by .using the method of statistical energy analysis (SEA). It is discovered that the response of ribbed panel is larger than the panel under the same sound load in high-frequency. In this paper, based on the energy balance equation of the panel and ribbed panel, the phenomenon which can not be explained by mass law is explained. Furthermore, the central reasons which cause this phenomenon are analysed. As the rib is increased, the stiffness and the radiation resistance of the panel are increased. Therefore, in high-frequency the number of resonance modes to the ribbed panel is greater than the panel, the average energy of the vibration and the response are also greated. The modal density, radiation resistance and input power for the ribbed panel are obtained by the superposition principle.
