Abstract: In this paper. the effects of inboard fairing, movable strake, fixed strake, strake flap and hinged strake to control the flow separation at the root part of FSW are investigated by wind tunnel and water tunnel testing results. The mechanism of aforesaid ways to control the flow separation and the effect on aerodynamic characteristics are discussed. These ways will remarkably control the flow separation at the root part of wing, raise the lift-drag characteristics at high angles-of-attack and improve the pitching moment behavior. Moreover. the fixed strake and strake flap will also improve the lift-drag characteristics at medium angles-of-attack, the hinged strake and strake flap will raise the stall behavior. These ways with the cooperation of canard make the aerodynamic characteristics more notable improvement.
