ASYMMETRIC SUBMERGED REINFORCEMENT OF COMPOSITE LAMINATES CONTAINING A CIRCULAR HOLE

Abstract: he effect of asymmetric submerged reinforcement on graphite epoxy composite laminates containing a hole was investigated analytically and experimentally on strain,stress concentration,damage and ultimate strength.A 3-D plate local/global finite element method was developed to analyse the response of reinforced hole laminates.It showed an exeellent effi-ciency of asymmetric submerged reinforcement,compared with the asymmetric separate rein-forcement,and also with the asymmetric separate reinforcement.
