PROBABILISTIC R6 ASSESSMENT FOR STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF AIRCRAFT ENGINE COMPONENTS

Abstract: Presenting the urgent requirements for structural integrity assessment of aircraft engine components first, this paper discussed the methodology of assessment for structural integrity with emphasis on probabilistic R6 method. It was indicated that the probabilistic R6 method could not only describe more accurately the integrity status of assessed structures, but also evaluate the relative importance of different factors for structural integrity. An efficient and economical measure aimed to maintain a high integrity status could be proposed based on the evaluation. Finally, some critical suggestions were issued for successful implementation of structural assessment methodology on aircraft engine components.
