Abstract: In helicopter air combat, the helicopter must have the maneuverability and agility to gain a firing position first and weapon systems must be able to get first round hits for successful air combat. In an attempt to address the questions, a general analytical model of helicopter/armament system combat is established. Taking the helicopter air combat at short ranges as an example, the kinematic law of a turreted gun is calculated. The development and results here may provide referable basis for maximizing the hit probability of the gun in air firing.
