RESIDUAL LIFE SAMPLING BASED ON L' HOSPITAL'S LAW AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE RELIABILITY SIMULATION

Abstract:

A variety application of reliability numeric simulation requires residual life sampling. However, with the age of system increasing, the life distribution function is quickly approaching 1, which often leads to failure or incorrect sampling result with current methods. A new sampling method based on L' Hospital's law is provided in this paper. Sampling precision of this method is also discussed. Several examples are presented to illustrate the application of this method in the reliability simulation. The results show the power and simplicity of this method.
