RESEARCH ABOUT LIFE-DECIDING TECHNOLOGY ON HELICOPTERS

Abstract:

The service life of dynamic components of a helicopter was decided by the safety life assessing method, but the results show that the given life was conservative, so it has capacity to prolong the life. The advanced technology of safety life and damage tolerance was taken to confirm the life of the helicopter's tail rotor. Confirming the safety life by the safety life method and considering the crack propagation life by the damage tolerance method can prolong the service life of tail rotors structure and ensure its safety in use. The use efficiency of the tail rotor was exerted preferably, and the requirements for use were satisfied.
