Abstract: On the application basis of infrared detection of the rocket engine exhaust plume, the infrared radiation characteristics of exhaust plume are calculated by backward Monte Carlo method (BMC) and finite volume method (FVM) in the paper. The distribution characters on space and spectral are obtained by the two methods when the detection wavelength is 2.7μm. The outcomes with the two methods are very close and very important in the theoretical significance and the application background.
