Abstract:

Almost all complex aircraft products are repairable. They are, by the degree of repair, of two categories: complete repair and basic repair. In practice, most of them are basic repairs. A non repairable model is applicable to the reliability sampling for completely repaired products. But no practical model is available for reliability sampling of basically repaired products. This paper presents an analysis model for assessing the operational reliability of the airborne equipment on a new aircraft in China, with emphasis on the nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP)modeling and the concept of failure intensity. Application methods and examples for this model are given, followed by the assessment results.

Key words: aircraft equipment, aviation products, repairable systems, operational reliability, test, assessment, NHPP, failure intensity
