Abstract: A fuzzy and random method for estimating the probability density curve and its parameters was put forward for the first time.The specific process deriving the parameters was presented by dealing with a group of fatigue life data.The parameters were obtained from the random samples by adopting the fuzzy and random method and the mathematical statistics method,respectively.And the results showed that the estimated values of the parameters by means of the fuzzy and random method are closer to the theoretical ones than those of the mathematical statistics method.
