Abstract: Combining the LU SGS implicit scheme and Roe's approximate Riemann scheme based on the MUSCL interpolation, a code for 2 Dimensional compressible Navier Stokes Equations is developed. The Johnson King turbulence model is used to simulate the separated flows. Then the internal and external flow fields of three 2 Dimensional submerged air intakes are computed with the code, and the influence of design parameters on the performance of the intakes is analyzed. The large range of backflow appears in the submerged air intake, especially in the large offset, compact intake. The results also show that the separated range becomes smaller with the reduction of the ratio of the offset to the length of the intake.
