Abstract: To satisfy the requirement of automated alignment and joining of fuselage sections and wings in digital assembly for an aircraft, a novel type of POGO stick with 3-axis and high accuracy is designed, and an adjusting method of posture based on three POGO sticks support is proposed. Through analyzing the theory of posture alignment, the cumulative properties of the posture and the stress state of 3-axis POGO sticks are revealed. An algorithm for the POGO stick deformation during the posture alignment is introduced. A posture error model in relation to the POGO sticks deformation is presented, which is used to guide the error compensation in the control system. The results of simulation and experiment show that this method of posture alignment is feasible, reliable, efficient, and flexible.
