Abstract: Advanced fighters are capable of generating high sustained-G during aerial combat maneuvers, which has seriously threatened flight safety. In order to carry out high G-load flight training on the ground, research on new principles of G-load simulation for a novel sustained-G flight simulator (SGFS) is necessary. First, the mechanism of G-load simulation on SGFS is analyzed and formulas relative to G-load simulation are systematically derived. Then, a mathematic model for SGFS G-load simulation is established. To test the SGFS’ capability of simulating single axis and multi-axis G-loads, both trapeziform G-load command and 3-axis G-loads on pilot in a 360° roll maneuver are numerically simulated by using the model. The regularity of SGFS motion during G-load simulation is also investigated. Simulation results validate that the model is accurate and also indicate that SGFS is able to duplicate in-flight 3-axis sustained-G on pilot precisely.
