Abstract:

A new approach is proposed to modeling the milling force based on the cutting force shape characteristics in end milling. The relationships between the cutting forces and the cutting depths are analyzed and the cutting forces are classified into six types according to the combination of cutting depths, and then into ten types based on the degree of overlap.Meanwhile, the theoretical cutting force curve is provided correspondingly.
