Abstract:

With the increasingly fierce struggle of electronic countermeasure in the modern battlefield, the environment of radar falls under serious threat. Radio frequency (RF) stealth technology is an important way to improve the viabilities of radar and its platform in the war field. In order to improve the radio frequency stealth performance of radar, a target tracking algorithm with stealth performance optimization is proposed for a new style radar system with MIMO detection mode. Based on the optimization model of RF stealth performance, the subarray division number, average transmission power, beam dwell time and sampling period are controlled adaptively in the tracking algorithm to optimize the RF performance of the system on the guarantee of tracking precision. Specifically, the intercept factor and sampling period are considered synthetically in the RF stealth. Simulation results demonstrate that, with the proposed target tracking algorithm, a MIMO radar can provide better RF performance compared with traditional phased array radar.
