Abstract: In order to solve the abnormal cutting states monitoring problem in deep-hole drilling of titanium alloys, it is recommended to adopt motor power consumption as the estimation basis of cutting states in this paper. Based on many experimental researches into the signal characteristics at the moment of abnormal cutting states, a monitoring strategy called "adaptive gradient power monitoring method"is put forward approaching to practical level under present condition, and a in-process monitoring system of were established. Experiments show that the power monitoring method is feasible to be used in deep-hole drilling monitoring, the algorism put for-ward in this paper can avoid doing many pre-experimentsto determine the thresholds, and the monitoring problem in titanium alloy deep-hole drilling with complicated technological processes is solved successfully.
