Abstract:

The selection of vibration tapping parameters takes a very important role in vibration tapping, which is generally obtained through a single factor experiment. This method takes much time and is much costly, which seriously cumbers the application of vibration tapping technology. It is very necessary to find some simpler method to solve the problem. In this paper, a new formula was proposed to describe the relation between cutting number of times (CNT) and rebound thickness (RT). Based on the formula and repeat-cutting theory (RCT), a mathematical model was established to calculate the maximum tapping torque in vibration tapping. A simulation was carried out to verify the model, which proved to have good match with the experiment result. The model can be used to improve and simplify the selection of vibration tapping parameters.
